Reprise
If we could only linger and look at it again.
Would we see that we were shaken? But steadfast all the same. Counter lies that we have spoken, Yet, together share the shame.
And never say we meant it, Being as obdurate as stone. To deny the smallest gambit, And resolve it alone.
To withhold the precious act- For fear of seeming bold. And confound our art by fact, though wishing to be told.
Then would we look above? And strive to live again. Or would we fall below In the shadows of men.
