Language and fire

Language and fire,
Which of these is higher?

With a fearful tone
Fire says, 'I can destroy'.
Language counters,
'Yet the despot commands with my voice'.

Then Language leans forward and says, 'It is I that makes men great'
Fire pointed up to the sky. 'My warmth created you', he replied.
Language thought at length and then spoke, 'Without me none can conceive '.
So Language had the last word

But look, look, look

I see the burning of books.
